congested regions for automobile traffic in the nation, as is shown consistently
in various national transportation studies.
According to a transportation study by
INRIX Inc. (a high tech
telematics transportation company) metro San Diego ranked #15 out of the top 100 worst traffic congested cities in the USA... the INRIX
study also determined the peak weekly traffic period to be on Thursday afternoons between the hours of
5pm - 6pm. According to another traffic study by the
Texas Transportation Institute, the TTI ranked metro San Diego #18 out of the top
20 most congested cities as measured by the number of hours commuters endured in extra
travel time during rush hour traffic... the TTI determined metro San Diego
residents waste approx. an extra 51 hours per year traveling in local rush-hour
traffic.
An analysis of search data from
Overture.com has shown the
search term "San Diego traffic" ranked #2 out of the top 100 most requested
US metro traffic search queries across the Overture network.
In a recent Road Rage survey commissioned by
AutoVantage, the survey
found that San Diego road rage is the 10th worst in the US as compared amongst a
total of 25 major US cities. |
